5 WAYS SNOW TEACHES US ABOUT LIFE

Life is said to imitate art, according to Oscar Wilde, poet and playwright. This anti-mimesis philosophy is often proven true. One way this can be seen is in the snowy days that come our way during the winter solstice. God’s art and beauty of nature through snow can be parallel to life and lessons we can learn daily from it. Here are five ways a snowy day can teach us about life.

1.) Be crystal clear and transparent

Snowflakes are said to be translucent, despite not appearing clear, due to the way the light hits the surface. The snow is an enigma, yet it shows us to always be transparent and crystal clear in our vernacular and approach to life.

2.) Be unique

Just as each individual snowflake is completely different, we must learn to embrace our uniqueness an individuality. It is our differences, quirkiness and even subtle details about ourselves that makes us special and stand out.

3.) Be appreciative

The colder weather and snow makes us much more appreciative of anticipated warmer days ahead. If we never experience the cold, we can’t truly be grateful for the sunny days.

4.) Be inspired

This notion that life imitates art suggests that people can be inspired by the beauty and creativity of a work of art. Be it a painting by man or a breathtaking landscape by God, we can all be inspired by the aesthetics of art and incorporate it in our lives.

5.) Be unified

One snowflake may appear to be fragile, but what an impact all of these snowflakes can make together in a snowstorm or blizzard. United together, we can really make a difference in the world. We can get a lot more done in life when we unite as a whole and work together.
